Rick has had a long run with alcohol and drug issues over the years. Having lost hope, he wondered through the last few years yearning for meaning. I met Rick as he wandered into our church one Sunday morning. I invited him to our church and to our outdoor tent book discussion. He said, you don’t want me in your church. I told him my testimony about getting saved and freed from my alcohol use. I assured him that we do want him in our church.
That next Sunday he came to our 10 am service and felt so welcomed. He was so surprised that he came back to the 5pm Service. And the following Saturday he came to the tent book study on Anxiety in the tent.
After a few weeks of attending both services consistently, he suggested getting a little pop up tent to continue meeting outside so he could invite his friends from AA. We now have had 6 weeks of book study under a little pop up tent out in the field, and it is attracting people passing by. Rick has really grown over the past 3 months and will be getting baptized this November.
