1. Do you find the anxiousness we feel over the state of the world is at odds with the joyful expectation that Advent begins?
2. True or False: The Advent mood these first two weeks is such that there is something unsettling, darkly anxious, almost threatening about it.
3. To the ears of the world the Good News often sounds like too-good-to-be-true news. Does it sound that way to you sometimes?
4. During Advent God rejoices along with those whose sentence He has overturned. What does that mean to you?
5. When you consider that happiness seems to be the main goal of most of the whole world, it seems surprising that the Bible doesn't talk much about happiness. Why do you think that is?
