Sermon Title: "How Can We Be As Faithful As A
Centurion?" (Luke 7:1-10)
Sermon Outline:
1. How can we reconcile differences in the gospel's of Luke and John when they are talking about the story of the healing of the centurion's slave?
2. In Luke 7 we read about the centurion who has people speak on his behalf to ask Jesus to heal his slave. Why is it that Jesus doesn't even see the centurion, but says not even in Israel has He seen such faith?
3. How does this story of a slave who has an advocate to speak on his behalf relate to Pentecost?
4. What makes Luke's account being different than John's account of this story make it more believable?
5. So, who in your life do you need to advocate for? On who's behalf do you need to appeal to Jesus?
